how do you make a vacuum cleaner blow air rather than suck air? I know it can be done because many years ago a friend of my fathers useda vacuum cleaner to spray his car, i thought it odd at the time but now i am in need of a blower i thought maybe someone on here could tell me how it is done. Not an easy one i know but im sure some of you brainiacs out there will have a solution for me. Cheers guys

  1. If it sucks it blows. Wherever it blows, you should be able to hook in the hose. Old or new, anything with a hose has a blow hole that you can connect the hose to, because hoses get stopped up, and that’s how you unstop them. They’ve been trying to find a good use for all that hot air for years. I once owned a vacuum that came with a special bonnet, so it could be used as a hair dryer. Would have worked great, if the filter system had been better. Of course, that was long before everybody and their dog owned a hair dryer.

  2. I know the vacuum cleaner you are thinking of! The old cylinder vacs you could connect the hose up at either end,one end sucks and the other blows but I don’t think any of the newer ones do apart from the really expensive Kirby ones and in that case you would be better off hiring a compressor and spray gun. I think we have spoken before about a calliper, if I can help you know where I am.
