Are vacuum bags a good idea to store stuffed animals?

woodworker2090 need help to clarify doubt about: : Are vacuum bags a good idea to store stuffed animals?
I have a ton of stuffed animals between myself and my wife that we want to store for a longtime in a garage or basement. Are vacuum storage bags a good idea? Will they crush them permanently? Will the vac bags hold their suction for years? Would I have to worry about moisture or cold if they are in the bags?

y Yes they lose their suction over a period of time; Mine lost air after a month. I finally just used plain old trash bags from the Dollar Store. I found they worked just as well. Put stuff in them, use the vac hose to suck out the air put a rubber band around the top and when they lose air put it back in. At a fraction of the cost of the high priced bags they do the same job.

  1. I’ve had great experiences with the “Space Bag.” It holds air for a really long time and it’s easy enough to put back in. No, it will not crush them permanently.

A tip – no matter which method you go with, place a fabric softener sheet in with the animals. When you open the bag later, they will all smell very fresh. It works for me – that’s how I store all my comforters over the summer.
