  1. Very Easy…

Buy a new extension cord from the hardware store (be sure it is a heavy duty cord).

Simply cut one end of the cord and expose the wired needed.

Unscrew the plate of the vacuum exposing the area that you need access and attach the wires appropriately.

If you do not know how to do this I would take it to a local electrical supply company of electrician and see if they will spend 5 to 10 minutes doing it for $10.

The way to get it at just $10 is to ask how much per hour they charge.

Then talk more about the cleaner and when they are not expecting ask how long do they think it would take to attach a new cord.

Usually you will get 5 – 10 mins.

Then work out how much 10 minutes costs and you have it.

    Good luck.

  2. Pull back the rubber outer cover on both pieces and trim the cover about 1/2" from each of the wires and twist the same color wires together and bend the wire towards one side and wrap tightly with electrical tape. Do the next wire the same way but bend the opposite direction and wrap with black electrical tape. If there is a 3rd wire do the same thing. Make sure you cover all exposed metal on the wires and then wrap the whole bunch of wires with electrical tape tightly and pull the rubber covering back down as good as you can and use electrical tape once again.
I usually cut the wires so that each splice isn’t next to the other one. Cut 1 " off both ends of the same wire that were together at one time. Next set of wires cut 2" off only one end and 3rd set cut 2" off the opposite side so that when the wires are all taped together they are staggered along the cord.
    Any questions email me.

  3. You can get replacement plugs at the hardware store. However, if you’re not familiar with electrical repair, ask the hardware store if they can refer you to someone to install the plug for you. Heck, they might put it on for you! The replacement plug won’t be as "sleek" looking but what the heck! It’s on a vacuum! Be sure to tell them what you’re buying the plug for. You should get a heavy duty plug. And I wouldn’t sweat the 2" you lost…..

Even if you end up paying someone local to install the plug for you, it’s going to be way cheaper!

  4. Replace it for about $5.00. Buy a seperate cord and plug at a hardware store or an extension cord and cut off the outlet.

    Let’s not get cheap here.

  5. You can replace this cord by yourself. Remove the cord. Take the piece(s) to your local Hardware store. (It is important to take cord with you, so the right wattage can be matched). I have replaced cords on sm. house appliances. It’s really very simple to do. Good luck! 🙂
