I know it’s hard to give an exact figure…but how many miles can I put on a vacuum cleaner before it starts to give problems? I know there are some with batteries and others with the cord. So, if I use one with the cord, does that have better gas mileage?

You will get much better mileage if you turn off the air conditoner and inflate th tires to higher pressures.
Never mind the gas mileage. The big question is whether you can get insurance on it.
At a push I’d say 35 miles per gallon ,maybe 40. The ones with cords are electric but they have very limited range so if your looking to go anything over 30m you’d need a mobile generator which is probably gonna use more fuel than a vacuum anyway. Make sure you get one with a large fuel tank. I’m getting a new lawnmower that does 45 mpg on grass. I can’t wait to hit the tarmac.
about 2 to 3 mpg less than a broom
