Kelly need help to clarify doubt about: : What is the best way to get rid of fleas in the home?
I have 2 cats and one small chiuahua. The problem I have with ridding fleas in my home is that the stuff I use for the cats is too strong for my little doggie but the stuff made for dogs my size isnt enough. I have tried the drops on the back of the neck on both the cats and dogs, and although it seems to be working on the cats, the drops almost poisoned my dog. But using a simple flea bath on the dog once a week, doesnt really get rid of them and I am afraid to spray flea kill in the windows and such because the cats like to get in the windows and stuff. Are there any good safe flea killers out there that wont hurt my animals?

As long as your dogs are not puppies and are over 12 weeks old, I use fly spray.
The one I use is called Ambush, it kills and repells fleas, ticks, flies, chiggers, lice, mmosquito’s etc. I bathe my dogs and towel them off, while they are still damp from the bath I spray them down really good with the fly spray, make sure not to get the genitals or the eyes or mouth, but work it in everywhere. Their belly, legs, chest, tail, throat, top of the head, cheeks, everywhere! Spray them enough that your hands feel wet when working it in to their fur and skin. It is safe for dogs and horses, it says so on the bottle. Wash your hand after your done.
It works really good for my dogs. I live out in the country so my dogs had fleas, then I started using this and they don’t have fleas anymore.
There is a powder you can buy (I don’t remember the name) but it can be bought at Petsmart or Petco to sprinkle on your carpet, let it set and then vacuum. In the meantime, you can get Capstar from your Vet which will kill all fleas on your pets.
Your pets evidently go out and what you’re using isn’t getting rid of them. Buy from the Vet and your little Chihuahua won’t have fleas & will not be poisoned.
