    I’m at Amazon looking to replace the steam mop pads that came with my Bissell Symphony. I’ve had the floor cleaner for just under a year now and am very happy with how it works. My two gripes are the waste canister can pop off if your not paying attention and my steam pads are smelly on start up. I started to notice this over the summer and even my kid commented, “what is that smell?!” I only smell it when I initially start the steam function when cleaning which leads me to believe its the steam pads.

    We use a dryer bar in our dryer and I think maybe my forgetting to take it out when drying certain items may have affected the steam pads. Or, maybe the microban has a usefulness of 6 months. Either way this is why I’m replacing them

    This set of steam mop pads fits the Bissell Symphony all in one vacuum and steam mop. They fit correctly and don’t move around while you are cleaning. This set includes two and they are both different. One of them is nice and soft and the other one has some scratchiness to it. I like the mixture of the two different pads because I like to use the scrubby pad on all of my floors and then go back over it with the soft pad. I found this to be the best way to get my floors as clean as possible.

    These pads seem to be well made and they are coated with Microban to help them stay as bacteria free as possible. They are easy to wash because you can just throw them in the laundry with your bath towels. They can also be sent through the dryer. That makes it possible to always have a clean pad ready when you need because there is special cleaning needed.

    Given the quality of these pads and the price I would consider these a pretty good deal.

    Since these are replacement pads for the Bissell 1252, what you get should not be a surprise. There are two pads – one has a zigzag of stiffer “scrubbing” fibers and the other is a uniform soft mop-type surface. The pads fit the vacuum and steam mop they’re designed for perfectly. Both are washable and easy to put on and take off (there’s a tab on the sides to assist with pulling it off). I have found that, unless your floor gets super dirty and the pads get very dirty, you can rinse and squeeze them out then hang them up to air dry rather than wash them every time. I did find with the original pads that they can take on a bit of a funky smell over time, but I don’t know if that is due to my washing machine/detergent or a build-up of microbes in the pads that aren’t being washed out with conventional washing.

    You may want to shop around a bit for these as the price can vary by as much as $5 from various outlets. If you like to use fresh ones fairly often, it’s worth checking out other options (though Amazon’s current price is certainly competitive).
