Can I spray my couch with a mild cleaning liquid and vacuum it with the hose connected to my regular vacuum? Will the moisture damage my vacuum? Thanks for any other tips you have as well:)
ps- I am trying to get the smoke smell out of my couch

If you vacuum liquid it may clog the machine and or damage the motor. Only use a wet/dry vac for those jobs.
I have heard the products that take pet smells out will also remove smoke.
Unless it’s a wet/dry vac don’t ever vacuum liquids !You could get electrocuted for sure!At the very least ruin the vacuum or start an electrical fire!!!!Rent a carpet cleaner and use the upholstery attachment. This will do a good job.You may need to do it more than once.Febreze in my experience simply masks odors temporarily .If something smells that bad there’s something wrong here ,and it should be cleaned.
You CANNOT vacuum ANYTHING wet or even damp , you not only could damage your vacuum , you could get ELECTRICUTED ! Try just spraying Febreeze on it or one of the other brands of the same kind of thing. You just let it dry naturally !
I don’t think this would be safe. A regular vac, is not built to suck up liquids. You could get electrocuted. Besides that it will ruin the machine. You might could try a shop’n’vac, one that is built to suck water, etc. Call a commercial cleaning company. Alot of times they ran special for whole house cleaning, this would be alot safer, plus they have the correct chemicals for this type of cleaning. Be safe not sorry.
With a regular vacuum that could get nasty. But you could do it with a Shop-Vac.
Go rent a steam cleaner from the grocery store and steam the couches. Then febreeze them really well. Then, stop smoking.
only if it drys to a powder go to wall mart and rent a carpet machine with the couch attactment and stuff some fabric sheets onder the cushions
it could create mildew, i would just quit smoking and use febreze or open the windows on a windy day
No, I would let it air dry first. Why don’t you sprinkle some carpet fresh on it ,then vacuum.
