Simplicity 6 Series Vacuum Turns off by itself & won't come…

I have inspected the bottom and there’s no obstruction. I checked the bag, it’s practically empty, I plugged into a different outlet & still no response even though other items in plug work just fine, I haven’t blown a fuse (I checked). I just can’t figure it out. This vacuum cleaner is heavy & very difficult to use, aside buying a new one, Any suggestions?

  1. Simplicity vacuums, although heavy, are usually built quite well and most perform at a high level for many years, given proper care. If you were in the midst of sweeping and it just quit out of the blue, and won’t restart at all, then it’s either the motor has died, or the thermal fuse on the motor has blown and needs to be replaced. If it’s the motor it’s going to be expensive, if it’s just the little thermal fuse, the biggest part of the expense to get it replaced will be the labor to pull the motor and replace it.

  2. Sometimes appliances have internal fuses. Look up the manual for the vacuum on line if you do not have it.

Or you could have a broken wire connection somewhere in the vacuum.

    Good Luck.

  3. If the vacuum will come on some time later perhaps the motor is overheating and shutting down on thermal overload. It might mean the air flow is somehow blocked.
