aside from shampooing. Here’s what i do – once a month: vacuum up dog hair with wand. mix fabric softener and water, dip a cloth in and dampen. wipe down couch to get off hair and dog slobber. wash couch pillows
once a week or more: febreze the crap out of it.
So does anyone have any other tips? nothing too complicated, I have a large couch. I’m sick of it smelling like corn chips all the time.

Wow, to the one that only baths the dog once a month. I would die! I am a clean freak soooooo. I would first not let them on my couch. Thats my damn couch! They can have their own dog beds. Second, to get the smell out you need to do a steam cleaning, professional or u can rent them maybe? pretty sure u can
Febreze lies like crazy, it just covers up the odor IMO. They all do. If its not clean its not clean.
Keep them off your furniture! Have a dog bed or rug that they know is their own that you can wash easily.
LOL.
I bought couch covers…they slip over my furniture…they are washable.
I also use Febreze. Besides that..there really isn’t much you can do. Owning dogs means putting up with their odor as well.
I bathe my dogs about once month & only allow them on the furniture at certain times. Otherwise they lay around in their dog beds…maybe limit your dogs from getting on the furniture so much as well.
I have old blankets on my couch and I have a few extra so I can wash them every few days. You might want to vacuum more then once a month. You might want to try Upholstery foam cleaner
The best remedy? Don’t let your dog up on the furniture.
get a washable slip cover for the couch that way you can wash that. Also use a steam cleaner to get the smell out. Or perhaps, wash your dog more often with a strong smelling doggy shampoo.
I make a mix of two parts water, one part Nature’s Miracle and keep it in a spray bottle. Every now and then I spritz it all over my house and on my furniture and it helps more than Febreze would (it doesn’t just cover up the smell).
