Any tips do deal with cat's shedding?

I have a cat and although I love her, I really could do without all that hair! Obviously I can never get rid of the shedding (unless I want a hairless cat, uh, no thanks) but I was just wondering if there were any good tips for keeping the house clean. I usually just vacuum the carpet and wipe down the counters but I figured I might be able to learn something new if I asked Y!A. Thanks!

  1. -give the cat a teaspoon of good quality vegetable oil once a week
-brush the cat (a lot) with a proper pet brush
-harness up the cat and let it roll in the snow – best thing for it – a daily outing will reduce the cat hair in the house by 75%
Your cleaning regime sounds okay; you just need to reduce the amount of hair coming off the cat.

  2. Hey, same here.
-If you’re out during the day, you could cover the surfaces your cat enjoys napping on, like your sofa or bed with a ‘throw’ which many people use anyway, pet or not, or just a blanket until you get home and can keep an eye on your kitty. That way, when you get home you can stick it in the wash or change it anyway Many pets also prefer to lay on blankets.
-For the carpet, you can’t really do much, I have a laminated floor which is useful. I’d say just keep vacuuming..
-The best way to keep your cat from moulting so much is to brush her regularly, which reduces the amount of fur she sheds a lot and also makes her a lot healthier, no hairballs and a healthy coat means that she will shed less
-Make sure the diet she’s being fed is high quality as what she eats will reflet in her coat.
Unfortunatly, it’s winter so she’ll be shedding more than usual but after, the amount of moulting should go down which is a welcomed break 🙂
    Jess.
-Look at it this way, your kitty shedding means she’s healthy.
