First of all, know you are an equal in a partnership with your spouse or significant other. You are very important in makeing decissions about how money is spent in this household as well and the first thing you HAVE to do is learn how to budget money for bills, groceries, medicine, doctors, etc…You need a monetary figure to know how much money is going to be spent in a “pie” direction. THAT is KEY. If you do not know your finances each month you are shooting yourself in the foot for disaster. Find out what that dollar amount is so you can prepare for what you need. Cleaning supplies CAN be bought at any Dollar Tree for dirt cheap, learn to cook and buy in bulk so you don’t have to rely on eating out so you can save money, Get a cookbook! Get yourself a parttime job so you can be happier and buy things you would like to have. Children???? That’s another thing all together. FINANCES ARE A PRIORITY!!!!!!!!!!!

  1. Assuming your mother in law is a good cook, get her recipes for your husbands favorite dishes.
If she isn’t use your mother’s recipes if she is a good cook.
Buy a large pressure cooker and a large crock pot. These will save you more time than anything else. Each of them comes with recipe books and time schedules. Pressure cookers reduce cooking time from an hour to 15 minutes under pressure and cool off time. Crock pots are the opposite, they take much longer (4-6 hours) which gives you time to do other things. Both make delicious meals.
A Kitchen Aid mixer is great for bread baking. It takes all the work out of it and you eat better more health bread and it is cheap. “Beard on Bread” is a great beginners bread book.
Housework can be sped up by buying a cloth carpenters apron and carrying all the cleaning fluids and waxes and rags in the pockets. Be systematic. Baking Soda, vinegar and ammonia work just as well as more expensive products. Buy or save old squirt bottles and a Permanent Marker to label the bottles.
If the floors are dirty, the house is dirty. They need cleaning daily. A vacuum is better than a broom.
Laundry, don’t bother with hot water. Modern detergents don’t need it. Use warm. Put the hangers near the dryer. It will save you time and your back later.
Personal: Welcome your husband home like a puppy.
Never wear nightgowns or pajamas to bed.
Never use sex as a weapon. Keep him depleted. You have the power.
