Cordless Vacuum Cleaner
What could have been an amazing cordless vacuum, falls short in durability,
First things first… for the first two months of ownership, the vacuum was great. It was the best cordless vacuum we had ever used. My wife vacuum at least twice a day. The only issue we had was that the suction was so great that it would suck up some of our small mats/rugs and get stuck. Luckily, it has an auto-shutoff feature for this which prevents it from being a problem. Nice!
The suction for a cordless vacuum is stellar. The bin in which is stores the dust/dirt is amazing. I think the design of the bin is what makes the suction so great as it’s almost impossible for the dirt to impede airflow due to how it is designed. Everything was looking great with our new Bissell (first time ever owning a Bissell and taking a chance to see how it would hold up to other brands.)
Then the 2 month mark hit…. The handle broke off during normal operation, exactly like one of the other reviews. I contacted Bissell for a replacement handle and it was on backorder for several weeks (must be a common problem, huh?) Only a few days later, while waiting for the handle to come back in stock, the vacuum stopped working all together. The LED’s would turn on, but the vacuum would not. Now, not only did our vacuum have a taped on handle, but it wouldn’t even turn on.
Bissell is shipping me a replacement vacuum, and I’m hoping I just got a dud, but it just seems that the durability on this thing just isn’t there.
Also, I noticed that when I was packaging up my vacuum to ship back to them for replacement, there was a small melted looking spot behind the battery. There was also a little bump on the battery itself, right under the metal contacts. A little scary, since it looks like it overheated or something. Maybe a faulty battery caused it to die?
I will hopefully come back and update my review when the new vacuum performs flawlessly, but at this point, I wouldn’t be surprised if I went through multiple replacements throughout the 1 year warranty. I guess only time will tell.

BEST VACUUM I HAVE EVER HAD (and I am no Spring Chicken!). IT IS AWESOME!! SEE UPDATE 2 weeks after using!!!!,
************ 2 weeks later – I am still loving this vacuum BUT very upset with Bissell. The washable filter is foam with a felt lining. I use my Air Ram every day and need to wash the filter at least once a week. PROBLEM – it takes 2 – 3 days for the filter to dry depending on how long you want to spend with paper towels absorbing the water and your hair dryer on high and hot. It would be a very simple solution IF Bissell had filters so you could get an extra one, but they don’t. I have called and written Bissell and no results, they just tell me that part is not available. I guess they want you to buy TWO vacuums so you have a clean filter which of course is ridiculous. Running the vacuum with a dirty filter not only shortens the life of the vacuum, it also makes your house stink like the inside of a dirty vacuum bag. Get with it Bissell, one inexpensive part would make this the best cordless vacuum. It should come with 2 foam filters!
