Is there anywhere in Corsicana, TX where I can use a sewing machine…

mestupidcat need help to clarify doubt about: : Is there anywhere in Corsicana, TX where I can use a sewing machine or have simple sewing done?
I bought a simple dress pattern but my machine is not working properly. Can I use your machine (at your house) or can you sew the pieces (already cut out) together for me on your machine? I will pay a reasonable amount or can bring you lunch or whatever you’d like. Let me know. I work, attend college and live in Corsicana.

Thank you!

I don’t know Corsicana but a lot of dry cleaners
do alterations. You might want to check around.

  1. I don’t know Corsicana, but what’s going on with your machine?
It’s amazing how some simple adjustments can “fix it”.

    Have you tried:

    1) a new needle of the right size and type (8-10 for most top weight fabrics, 12-16 for most bottom weights); sharps for wovens, ballpoints for knits, universals work on most.
*make sure the needle is right way around*, or you get skipping stitches.

    2) Cleaning the bobbin area… remove the bobbin case (if possible) and vacuum or brush out all the fluff and grunge that accumulates. Get the “felt” under the needleplate, too.

    3) Cleaning the top tension

    4) Oiling any points that need oil

    5) Using a good quality thread, not serger thread or the 3 spools for a buck sort.

    6) Digging out the manual and threading following its steps precisely (many folks miss that the presser foot needs to be up to get the tension disks to open when threading).
