Get the rolly sticky thingy and roll down your furniture then vacuum like there’s no tommorow, if you feel it’s necessary and you are desperate roll down your carpet. Mop, wipe, swing the vacuum around your head to catch floaters.
I have a severe cat allergy and one day my children found a stray kitten and I couldn’t say no. I did alot of research and found out that bathing a cat regularly can contribute to cutting down cat allergies. If you bath a cat from the time they are kittens they get used to it and its not a problem to do it for the remainder of their lives. So I did it…..and I never had problems with allergy. Fortunately the cat got so used to getting baths that she just sat in the tub while I bathed her. As you know, cats and water usually don’t mix. And it your cats are already grown, bathing them may not be an option. But I do think that they make a solution that you put on their coats and it accomplishes much the same thing. Also, according to most studies…its not the dander that causes the allergies…its actually the cats saliva that gets deposited on their fur from the licking they do.
One thing that is helpful is to get a pet brush and brush their hair. It gets all the extra hair off that would otherwise be left behind on couches and in the air.
Have the furniture professionally cleaned and let them know that you are having problems with dander, they have special shampoo’s they use for this 🙂
