how to clean a home before we move in?

we just bought a house with new carpet and paint. the kitchen needs cleaning and so does the bathrooms. carpet just needs to be vacuumed and kitchen needs to be mopped. some dead pests would need to be sweeped and thrown away. we are thinking of washing down the walls but not sure with what?

give me your all, tell me what i need to do to clean the house. It’s a pretty big house and we just need simple tasks so we can clean out the day with simple products before we move in the next day Thanks.

  1. look in th telephone book for cleaning supplies for business type people who do that for a job, go there adn talk to them to get the best cleaning stuff,
to clean the walls, you can uses a foam type mop used for floors, this will save you a lot of time and effort,
buy a home type STEAMER cleaner, that WILL sanitize the kitchen and bathroom for sure with HOT steam,
call a few professionals and say your family may be alergic to cleaning supplies, what do they use in the homes they clean, this way you can get an idea what to use….
and if all else fail, hire a professional to come in with a whole crew to clean from top to bottom,

    good luck

  2. So you have just signed the lease or deed to your new home and are getting ready to move all your furniture in to your new home. Please CLEAN before you move. You may have walked through once or twice, maybe even more, but when it comes to a vacant living space there is always more than meets the eye.

    Step 1
DO NOT MOVE ANY FURINTURE IN.
The living space needs to be completely empty in order to efficiently clean all areas. Even though a space looks clean when it is presented to you, that is not always the case. Sometimes it is not until you actually are able to spend ample time there that you notice stains in the carpet, dirty windows, strange odors etc.

    Step 2
Start with the hard work first. The process is similar to when you move out of your old place.

Clean the bathrooms first, just because the tub, toilet, sink, and fixtures look "clean" who is to say they are not teeming with germs. I always clean bathrooms and kitchens with a 7 parts water 1 part bleach mixture to insure there is no bacteria hanging around. Do not forget to clean around the foot of the toilet stool and under the vanity. Clean all glass and fixtures with glass cleaner. Sweep then mop floors.

    Step 3
Clean the kitchen. Clean out the refrigerator, wiping out with water/bleach mixture. Discard any remaining items. Place a open box of baking soda in the refrigerator if any odors linger. Wipe out all drawers and cabinets, especially if your eating and drinking materials will be coming in direct contact with these surfaces. If you have a garbage disposal, pour a cup of baking soda inside, allow to sit for an hour then run hot water and run the disposal. This will rid any preexisting odors.

    Step 4
If there are still any stale or funny odors, I suggest that this would be the point where you wash all walls with water/bleach solution, and put a box of baking in the closets of any room that smells strange. Once all major rooms are scrubbed down, wash all windows and window sills, sweep and vacuum out all rooms, then you are good to go.

  3. You can use a Sugar Soap (from the shops) solution with warm water for washing the walls. Car sponges are great for washing them as well.
Kitchens & wet areas are best cleaned with harder chemicals. So bleach or some kind of sterilizing agent. Use the green scower cloths for the wet areas as well. It removes stubborn stains.
For the carpets, you can either get them steam cleaned from the professions or just vacuum them (cos they are new).
After you clean, i suggest using pest control sprays to protect your whole house before you move in. So bug bomb or surface spray or whatever.
Also for cleaning your windows, use Metho with water or a window cleaning agent & use newspaper to wipe them down. Newspaper doesn’t leave the paper or cloth fluff on the glass after wiping. Plus it gives a nicer finish.
Just some tips & hints, hope these help 🙂

  4. I would vacuum and mop. Use a germicidal cleanser like Fuller Brush., Leave the walls alone. You said fresh paint and they would show streaks anyway. Scrub the bathrooms with the germicidal cleaner and bleach the toilets and sinks.as needed.
