How to disinfect vacuum cleaner attachments?

Hello everyone,
I want to disinfect my vacuum cleaner attachments, you know the ones with the brush. I am sure it has a lottt of germs on it and I don’t feel comfortable vacuuming around my wooden floor because, along with vacuuming the house, it also spreads the germs already on it around the house. I’m guessing just putting it under a water hose won’t suffice so do you suggest any disinfectant that will kill the germs on it? Thanks in advance.

  1. Wash your attachments in a sink of water with a teaspoon of bleach added to it. This is how restaurants using a three sink method disinfect their dishes.

You could also spray them with Lysol spray, either method will disinfect.

  2. Prepare a bucket of hot water and lysol as if you were going to mop. Dip the attachments in the bucket. Let dry before using again.

  3. I agree with the above posters for ideas to disinfect your accessories, but I don’t think anyone’s answered what to do about hoses. For central vacuums they provide "maintenance wipes" that are sucked in and it’s chemically formulated for vacuums. I have an upright so I sometimes just take a broomstick and clean my hoses that way, with a maintenance wipe attached at the end with a rubber band.
