How To Replace a Belt on an Oreck Vacuum

1. You will do yourself a favor if you buy a Dyson. I’ve owned and sold Kirby’s, owned an Oreck and bought a Dyson. The Oreck is very cheaply built and is a horrible excuse for a carpet cleaner. The Dyson although more expensive is solidly built and you’ll go about 4 years before making a belt replacement. You can see the results of your efforts both by observing the see thru canister and by looking at your carpet. It appears that the color of our carpet shows a significant improvement. Buy a Dyson

2. Sounds like its time for a New Roller Brush. You local dealer can fix you up on that.

3. I have installed the belts like this and it just burns right through them. We are taking it in for service this weekend, and if they can’t fix it, we will throw it out and go buy a Sears-Kenmore!

4. True, but if you have a problem with your roller, you can’t really get to it through the side door.

5. That might work also, but it’s the wrong way of replacing the belt. Orecks have a side door that requires the removal of one screw so you can open it and replace the belt (follow the instructions manual).
