What is the simplest, cheapest and safest way to clean dust and…

I know the fan on my laptop is clogged up, and i dread to think of the stuff under the keys – any ideas of cleaning it? I don’t have a vacuum cleaner or mini-one.
for further info, i don’t own a vacuum because i live in spain, and everywhere is parquet and marble!
Can i clean the fan with compressed air too?

  1. use a little brush (paint brush will do) then tilt your laptop a little sideway while brushing so the dirt will fall off.

  2. I find that using an airgun or a can of compressed air (you can get from officemax) works best. Just do it in bursts if you use the can because it can cause vapor that leaves mositure…and point it away from you and NEVER point an airgun on your skin. Wrap it up with an antistic wipe on the monitor and keyboard. Then repeat every 2 hours… 🙂

  3. You answered your own question. How is it that you own a laptop, but not a vacuum? Go buy one. Vacuums totally suck. Even better: Buy the compressed air cans with the tiny plastic tube. Force the dust and debris up and out from under the keys, and immediately suck it up with your new vacuum. Suck and blow simultaneously.

  4. The cans of air that shoot air out of a little tube. I seen it on a show where they were cleaning out a computer and they used the can-o-air to clean away the dust.

  5. A quick trip through the dishwasher will do the trick, but don’t run the heat/dry cycle it might melt…
