  1. I use a clearTrack/CMS which was made by Bissell for Amway. It’s a bagless system and works GREAT. Sometimes you can find them on e-bay and you might look into the Dyson system as well. If you do decide on a bagless system, make sure the filters are not going to be expensive to replace. The downside to the Cleartrack is it has some weight to it. Upside, LOTS of attachments and a 30ft cord! Also can be used as a DRY carpet cleaning system.

  2. Last year, I went online to compare what customers had to say about their vacuums. I discovered that the Dyson machines had more good comments about them than the others. They are expensive, so I looked at E-bay stores and found a re-conditioned one at a very reasonable price that is made just for pet owners. It is called the "Amimal" Dyson. It has incredible suction and a special attachment with bristles just to use on furniture to remove pet hair. Yes it works great – the machine looked like a new one when it arrived and I have no complaints. Get a Dyson – Animal.

  3. I’m not going to mention any brands but I will mention features that you might want to consider for a GREAT pet vacuum:

    1. HEPA. Make sure it’s true HEPA. Meaning that the whole air circulation going on…is really HEPA. It’s easy to put in a HEPA filter and say it’s HEPA but it really isn’t…the whole system has to work through that HEPA filter…so it’d be labeled TRUE HEPA. Make sure you get that…because it’ll pick up about 99.97% of particulates.

    2. Bagged. Suction is typically better in bagged models. Yeah, old-fashioned, but also better to vacuum up all that hair.

    3. Accessories. If there’s an attachment with rubber teeth or a rubber edge, it’s good to go. Rubber brooms also do well in picking up hair from carpet. I use a Zoom Groom to pick up hair from the carpet that my Bissel Pet Eraser cannot.

    4. Carbon filter. An activated carbon filter, if it’s in the vacuum (most models do not have this…) will eliminate that pet smell better. If you can’t find a carbon filter vacuum you can always get an air purifier. Carbon molecules suck up odor particles and neutralize the smell. Don’t soak your home in fragrances because it’ll also hurt your pets’ sense of smell, too.
