  1. There are several ideas

ONE: Replace the vacuum bag, for a new one

TWO: If it is a bag less vacuum, which will be easier to clean wash the plastic ‘storage’ area with white vinegar.

THREE: Turn the vacuum sideways and unblock hairs and ensure the bristles are not matted.

FOUR: Consider changing the filter. In a bag less vacuum the filter need replacing annually and I’ve found Sears to have the best range to find filters from.

FIVE: When you next vacuum sprinkle a little baby powder on the carpet, no more than one cup per room. Gradually over time it will start to make the vacuum cleaner smell better.

SIX: Don’t overuse the carpet powders which you have to vacuum up. I’ve made that mistake, and it tends to make your carpet seem sticky, if you can visualize what I mean. That’s how I discovered the cheaper, baby power option.

SEVEN: Light a scented candle while vacuuming in the room, the suction will collect the scented air.

    Good Luck!

  2. You have a problem that will require a new bag, and then buy some glade carpet powder to sprinkle on your carpet. Then when you vacumn this will pull in the powder and the scent will stay in your bag. Also, you will have a great scent in your home and this will also eliminate the cat smell. Good Luck!

  3. Change The bags & clean the head
Also you can buy sprays to spray the dirt PLUS it leaves it great
    smell. and vacuum away.
Also there are sands you throw on the carpet and then vacuum and it’ll smell GREAT!!
    Peace,
