My favorite new trick: Distilled white vinegar in a load of smelly laundry (my work clothes or towels that didn’t dry out before going in the hamper) neutralizes the odor.
Removing wine stain from carpet (soon after it is spilled): Spray windex on the stain. Lay an old kitchen towel over the stain, iron the towel and the stain gets sucked up into the towel. Repeat as necessary with a fresh section of towel and more windex.
