  1. I love my Dyson and they have several to choose from. I don’t have a friend who has one who doesn’t love it. They have one at Big Lots right now for $259.00 but I have also seen good deals on line. When I first purchased mine I remember having vacuumed the house the night before but as I was so excited to have a new vacuum cleaner I went ahead and vacuumed the house again. I filled the canister to the max level of dirt with one run through my house. Great suction is all I can say. My husband came home and was amazed at how different the carpet looked.

I have heard that these are not made for the long haul from some and honestly I can not tell you for sure. The longest time any of my friends have had one is four years I believe and I know that hers is still going strong.

Another two brands to consider that I know are great (all though they require bags) are Oreck and Electrulux. My sister has a hand me down Oreck that is almost twenty years old and at fifteen years of age it did get a new motor. It is still running strong and it works great. My mom always buys Electrulux and I have her 30 year old canister vac from my child hood which I still keep in the garage to use for car vacuuming. The motor was replaced once in this one and the motor for the carpet cleaning attatchment is dead now so I only use it for the car.

What I love about the Dyson is that the filter is a lifetime washable filter and it is bagless so I don’t have any more expense than the initial purchase. Good luck to you in finding one you love. I hope my reviews of the ones I liked has helped you.

  2. Eureka Bravo and i would use a bag their a very good vacuum and lasts forever. And the bags are easy to put in

  3. I can recommend Hoover brand from personal experience. I’ve had mine for 17 years and have never had any problems with it and it still works good. Hoover is a great value and is available for around $100.
I’ve heard a lot of people have had problems with the bagless filters getting clogged and blowing smoke. I think I will likely stay with the disposable bags should I ever need to buy a new vacuum.
About the Dyson, my sister has one and does not like it. She says it’s hard to push and turn. Personally, I think it’s overpriced and over-complicated. Sometimes simpler is better. I’m a Hooverer.
