The bags were a great price. Even though they didn’t come in the original box, they were the same quality as bags I got directly from the manufacturer.

I am your basic non-conformist, alternative way of doing things kinda guy! Several years ago I purchased a high level Foodsaver machine for the primary purpose of storing my old military pistol collection with the food storage machine and buying steaks, etc. at good prices to freeze them well was an extra justification for the expense. I own about 30 military pistols of somewhat older vintage dating from about 1858 to WWII (and a few newer commercial pistols that I keep to shoot recreationally) and being not inclined to do repetive tasks over and over again when better technology is available, I decided that cleaning/lubricating them and storing them in these high vacuum/airtight/no moisture bags would cut down on maintenance since rust is caused when moisture condenses on steel and facilitates the oxidation of the metal using the oxygen in the surrounding air. Bare or blued metal that is lubricated and stored in a gun safe but open to the environment requires at least yearly attention to preclude rusting and resulting degradation of appearence and value (and my mama would whup me if she knew I let my guns rust, not to mention my old sergeant). The bags are primarily nylon and I use synthetic oils that don’t react with the bag material so I figured I was in high cotton (be better if they made big enough bags for my 40+ comparable age military rifles, especially the Martini Henrys from the 1870s). Once I had the machine in hand (purchased from Amazon) and used the bags and roll material included, I was very impressed with the results. The next issue was WHERE CAN I GET A BETTER DEAL ON BAGS OR ROLL MATERIAL? After shopping around, I found some after market bags that seemed to be an excellent buy and I bought 100 for around $40. THEN, when I went to the freezer for a steak, I found the bag was no longer airtight. Frantically pawing through the stuff in there I found that my new bargain bags were sealing properly for only a little less than half the time and most of the storage in those bags was freezer burned to some extent. Making a beeline to my gunsafe, I found a similar rate of failure there but everything was OK since frozen meat goes bad much quicker than oily steel. It seems that they appear to be sealed but there are slow leaks (pinholes?) so the bags fill with air after you have cleaned up and walked away. I have never had the same problem with Foodsaver brand and I have learned my costly lesson and buy ONLY original manufacturer bags, etc.
BTW- my machine is still cranking along fine after 2 1/2 years and being a higher end model, it has a variable heat setting for the sealer strip- none of the settings I subsequently tried ensured a reliable seal with the crappy bags. This advice is free to you but it cost me enough that I was very annoyed! Anyone interested in 60-70 unused heavy gauge storage bags give me a call.

I’ve had a FoodSaver vacuum sealer system for many years and it can be difficult to find reasonably priced bags to go with it. I am very happy to have found the authentic replacement rolls at amazon. The 11 inch and 8 inch rolls are both high quality and work great. You cut them to whatever length you need. The price is as reasonable as I have found anywhere. I love my foodsaver system, it makes a huge difference. It’s great for anything from meats in the freezer, cheese in the fridge, to brown sugar on the counter. It keeps brown sugar soft for years, which is really nice.

I would recommend these bags if you have a FoodSaver Vacuum Sealer at home. They are a great product.
