    Great simple doorbell. I looked at hundreds of doorbells online (really!) before selecting this one, and I’m super happy with it. No fancy bells & whistles, just simple & effective (and cheap)!

    My friend was being driven crazy by an electronic door chime that sounded terrible; long, loud, and fake. As a housewarming gift, I got this for her and installed it and she loves it. Ding dong for the front door. (It will do just one if it was hooked to a back door if you wish.) There are little steel xylophone-like bars inside and a metal rod on a spring that is actuated by an electromagnet to hit them. A well proven concept! The outside is clean and rather modern. Good there isn’t any more texture, since it is almost too textured, but when up high it works fine. Recommended!

    The description indicates this unit is an easy install for older pre-wired homes. That is what drew my attention. The installation was a snap. The buttons lit up and functioned without a hitch. No batteries needed. If you need a transformer or a new button, include them in the order to save shipping costs. When you install any new electronic part, tag the wires or make a drawing when removing the old part so you won’t get confused.

    Update:
    I neglected to say that this model is an exact replacement for the bell that failed in my home. Externally, the cover is different, but internally the mechanism is identical. The bell is machanical. It uses “hammers” to ring two-tone tubular bells. It is not a recording. One tone for the back door and both tones for the front door. There are only three electrical connections. Transformer (one pole), Front door (one pole), and Back Door (one pole). It is a very simple unit.
