    works for Ridgid shop vac WD970 to Dewalt DW745, July 2, 2011

    This allows me to use a Ridgid Shop Vac WD970, a 9 gallon with 1 1/2″ ID hose end, to the 2 1/4″ ID Dewalt DW745 exhaust. The product says 2-1/2″, but it has an OD of 2-1/4″ and fits inside the DW745 exhaust. It fits snug to the Dewalt, but is a bit loose on the Shop vac but suction keeps it on while in use. Neither Ridgid nor Dewalt customer support knew about this item. Ridgid told me to buy a 2-1/2″ new hose (cost $20). This saved me $15. Good buy. Hardware stores probably have it, along with entertaining employees. If you don’t need that, buy from Amazon and get free shipping.
