Using the Eureka 955A for the first time, it vacuumed up so much stuff we couldn’t believe our eyes when we opened it up to dump the bin.
I love the fact that I can turn on/off the power nozzle separately from the main power to the unit. This comes in handy when you accidentally get too close to a shoelace, and the amazing suction of the Eureka 955A sucks it into the roller from 3 inches away.
I also love that all the filters can be rinsed out, preserving the life of them without having to buy filters. Also … no bags to buy.
The only complaints I have are small and don’t affect performance at all. The cord is a bit too short. It could be a couple of feet longer to make it the perfect length. (it’s only a few inches shorter than the upright we just trashed) The attachments are in a bad spot, and the bare floor head is in the worst possible spot. Also, the long wand – when attached to the power nozzle – has a feature that takes some getting used to: it’s designed to twist to the side for storage (so it doesn’t fall over), and this makes it different (not difficult) to control while vacuuming.
If you’re looking for a great bagless canister vacuum at a great price, this one fits the bill nicely.

I normally don’t care for bagless systems because they are messy but was attracted to the thought of saving money not buying bags anymore.
After getting this Eureka 4 days ago and using on each of our rugs (cleaning out the container each time so I can see what the results are) I believe I am pulling up dust from 8 years of build up! I am just shocked to see what is coming out of my rugs, not only that, the rugs are standing up better now (they were a bit compacted in the heavy traffic areas before). I am very pleased with the cleaning ability of this vacuum! I feel like this is one of the most efficient vacuums I have ever owned. There are lots of attachments for different things you need to vacuum (carpets, hardwood/tile floors, upholstery, drapes/blinds, etc.)
The only thing I can say I don’t like about it is the hose is a bit stiff. If you get it twisting around one direction, it will kink up instead of spinning around and righting itself. I guess there is no rotation where it connects to the canister, but this is a minor issue.
Cleaning the bagless container out is not that big of a deal. If you put slightly into the garbage can to do it, dust does not really fly around in the air, I think maybe the hepa filter is capturing alot of the ‘lighter’ dust and containing it.
I also do not notice any smell in the air while the vacuum is running. When I am done vacuuming I feel like my floors are spic and span and the air is fresh too!
I think this is as good as a more expensive machine like a Dyson for example. So glad I got it!
