    Been a food saver fan for 20+ years. Problem is, they keep changing their product line adding new gizmo’s……..which I have to have. Saw this and it looked like something I’d get use out of and I sure am. Love the zippered bag design for items I happen to use on a daily basis, like sliced cheese, lunch meats, onions, hot dogs,…….etc. Instead of having to use heat seal bags like I’m using now, having to cut it open and re-sealing until the bags are shot, I can re-open and re-seal these instantly and without going through bags all the time. Also love the new hard square containers. One thing I did notice is……… BE SURE YOU SNAP DOWN ALL 4 CORNERS of the container solidly before you vacuum, or it just won’t seal. Love the flat stackable design of the hard containers that came with this unit. Ordered several more to add to the 2 that came. With the re-sealable bags, I can make up sandwiches a week ahead of time and the bread stays fresh and soft. I can put things like sliced apples, pineapple, radishes, celery sticks, cookies etc into the zippered bags for his lunch, and he can easily open it. I dont apply mayo directly on the bread as tends to get absorbed and the bread turn mushy. I put it between slices of meat or cheese. If you use butter, you’re golden. This is a real gem of a deal for what you get for $30 bucks in the package, this unit is going to be a welcome and useful addition to my kitchen, without question.

    I love this little food saver.Works like a charm.
    From keeping the grandkids cold cereal fresh till their next visit,store seasonings(in their containers)right in the bags so they don’t get moist and are difficult to grind,
    to the local produce at the farmer’s market I am very happy.
    A small price for a great product. You don’t need those $189 ones!
    Buy the size bags that work for you and you’re good to go. Easily reuse the bags a few times.
    Love it!

    Now just over 1 yr later…..
    After a few good months of using what I thought was a good product,it stopped working. I have read in some reviews that said people don’t read the directions and don’t clean it therefore it’s their fault it doesn’t work. Not so. I take the time to read the info that comes with my purchases and always keep my devices “clean”. After 1 yr,which happens to be the length of the warranty,it doesn’t work. NO suction at all. So spending $30 and only a year later,I’m not purchasing another one. I’ll suck out the air with a straw!

    This gadget is awesome! Compact and lightweight, easy to store, easier to use! Cliche as it sounds “keeps odors out and freshness in”. Great for storing fresh or dried herbs, spices, leftovers, or deli items in the kitchen. i use the bags for sorting and storing small hardware and crafting items. The Mealsaver has endless potential for the home, classroom, garage, and camper.
