Excellent Vacuum at a Reasonable Price, November 16, 2014

This is the third Kenmore canister vac I’ve owned in 15 years. I got this one for Mother’s Day 2014 (Sears on sale for $559) – just writing a review now because I am shopping for replacement bags. Before I get into what I love about this vacuum, I must say that I LOVE vacuuming (weird, I know) so a good vac is very important to me. However, I don’t want to spend a ton either. Okay, here’s why this vac is great: *easy to push, can actually feel it propelling itself on certain surfaces *awesome attachment for cleaning ceiling fans *super duper adjustable suction power *dirt sensor *swivel head that allows for easy access to corners and underneath furniture *easy-release mechanism for solid surface tool (seriously, it releases with the push of a toe) *both the carpet cleaner AND the solid surface cleaner have lights (my old model didn’t have a light on the solid surface cleaner) *the dirt sensor even works with the solid surface cleaner (again, old model didn’t offer this) *practical and convenient because of all the easy-to-use features

Another reviewer mentioned that it’s hard to push, even when adjusted to the highest pile setting. I suppose I felt this way at first, but I did not notice it as much as I got used to the vac and figured out which settings (height and suction power) work best for the various surfaces in my home. After six months, this vac works just as well as the first time I used it. (I vacuum approx 3600 sq ft every week, and we have three kids and three cats.) Today is the second time I’ve changed the bag and the first time I’ve washed the soft filter (just with water). The only issue I have is that I wish the cord was a foot longer. Absolutely zero issues with price, quality and performance.

This model is much better than the new lower end models, October 31, 2014

I got this to replace an older Progressive. This has all the features that my old vacuum had but the design feels more solid and it’s much quieter than I expected. My cats and dog weren’t fond of the old vacuum but this one doesn’t bother them much. It has the powered pet attachment which is getting harder to find. The hose doesn’t swivel where it attaches to the canister so I wonder if that will end up being a point of failure. This model is much better than the new lower end models. Way better design….wait for a sale or find a deal online and buy this one.

This is my 5th Kenmore Intuition canister- over all love the quality, July 9, 2014

This is my 5th Kenmore Intuition canister- over all love the quality, suction, and user friendly design. I am always toggling between my hardwood floors and area rugs, not to mention using the extended wand to get the corners. However, the design for this model has been changed slightly from my last model and I am not sure I like it the same– definitely not better. The connection at both the power head and the hand wand are the bulky side of the connector, making corner cleaning more challenging. You can get a closer angle if you put another attachment on; however, that is time consuming with the extra step. Overall, the performance of this vacuum is great– I think it is better than my mom’s $1200 Meile.
