@Shiver130 hi is the vacuum affetive?
I just dip mine in a tub of water for about 20 minutes then I pop it in the microwave for about 18 seconds. After that I take an industrial magnet and I massage the hard drive with it. Sometimes I put sugar inside the vents to attract ants but the tub of water seems to do a better job.
@TheFreshPeddler
No.
open it up and you will tons of dust. itf you want to clean it properly you need to open her up
Just vacuum out the vents with a house vacuum… This is dangerous to the PS3. If you want to prove me wrong call Sony and ask them (yupp, I did and they said not to do it and that it is harmful) and/or find it in the PS3’s manual. If it’s not in the manual, I don’t think it was meant to be figured out.
Take a house vacuum on the vents of the system and thats it.
Hello Martin,
I apologize for any misunderstanding about the cleaning video you viewed for the PlayStation®3 system. The method you describe is not recommended by Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA). If you tried the method which you describe, you could possibly overheat your PlayStation 3 system and damage it, thus potentially rendering your system unserviceable.
Regards,
Nancy B.
I have nothing about ignornt people, but i do have a problem about ignorant people who always think they are right altho they are wrong.

this aint fake. its true, its good. but dude,, are you an asshole? switch on the back without powering off ??? that realy kills the ps3, the fan thing is good, but switching kills!!!
this kids a dumbass
I never tried this but I really am not intending to
the manual clearly states to vacuum your ps3 with a LOW powered vacuum cleaner
@suiton629 it blows all dust out of system i messaged SONY.
@lentilsouper anyways this doesn’t clean anything, true or false is does not matter, put your ceiling fan on the highest speed and how much dust falls from, NONE because dust get stuck on the blades when its there for a long time, so the vacuum will take care of that. you do whatever you want, so many people can’t be wrong.
@rarezas1959 No they never said that lol. Where does everybody keep getting these stats from? Call them yourself and then say it did, rather than taking what other people say. Unless SonyUK says different things from Sonywhereeveryourfrom. Which i doubt.
@btechkiller NO, you should NEVER do this, it is not recomended by sony and is not in the instruction manual, it is what was done in the factory to test the fans and is bad for the system
@lentilsouper dude sony said it themselves, “it will harm your ps3” what more prove do you need than the developers of the consoles saying its harmful, vacuum the vents was approve to be the safest way to clean the ps3 by sony, listen to them.
FFS. So many people say it damages. Piss off man. Get facts right before talkin crap
this is even worse then saying “how to vacuum your xbox 360 – shake it real hard while it is on and has a disc inside”
i could tell from the VERY FIRST thing you did that you didnt know what you were doing. you dont turn the ps3 off from the back switch while it is on. it even tells you after you do that and start it up again that it has been turned off incorrectly and can cause corruption |: |
have fun with a broken ps3..
