What vacuum cleaner do you like the best?

Over the years I have had many different vaccum cleaners. Like dirt devil, hoover, rainbow and filter queen to name a few. They all seemed to work OK when they were new, but they all would end up in the same place. The garbage. Rainbow and filter queen seemed to have pretty good longevity though. Recently I purchased a Kirby. It is expensive but well worth it. I really like the dry shampoo system. Being a single parent of two young boys, its very important for me to keep my floors and carpets as clean as possible. Kirby is way in front of the rest. I wish that I bought one long ago. And its guaranteed for life. So what vacuum cleaner works best for you?

  1. A Signature…the stuff you pick up goes directly into the bag and saves the motor..good idea with kids…it is a bit pricey, (but there are others that offer this feature) and it has all of the hepa filters and great attachments…love it!

  2. Yes I think a Kirby is one of the best. Also I prefer a Simplicity. I work for my brothers cleaning business and that is all we use. Like you said we have used a lot of brand sweepers over the years. The only place we have gotten our Simplicity is @ a local store that sells sweepers. The Simplicity has a great filtering system. They may sell Simplicity @ a janitorial supply store.
Most of the Simplicity’s have their own tools on board the sweeper.

  3. I’ve had my Kirby for nearly 15yrs.(generation 3). I had no problems out of it what so ever. I haven’t even had any repairs so it has been a tough one that’s for sure. I don’t really use all the gadgets that came with it. But all in all for me to have had this long yes Kirby’s or at least the later models are good!:)

Oh and back then I paid enough for it that I could have bought a good used car…..:O
