It certainly depends on what your definition of “simple” is. If you mean a life off the “grid”–one where you make your own power, grow your own food and live without technology, it’s not really simple at all. If you mean living only on what you need, not what you CAN HAVE,then that’s simpler. I think many people confuse “simple” with “old”. Is it simpler, for instance, to beat a rug by hand to remove the dirt, or to plug in a vacuum cleaner? Is it simpler to churn your own butter, or to buy it ready made in a grocery store? Simple in some cases means your work load will increase and your knowledge will have to be expanded–and your skills. Technology has made a lot of things far simpler than they used to be, as in the case of cleaning rugs or making butter–but the answer really depends on the definition YOU mean.
