What's a good vacuum cleaner for getting up pet hair?

Can anyone recommend a vacuum cleaner that would be good for getting up pet hair? We’ve had our vacuum for about 4 years now and it’s starting to break down so I’m looking into buying a new one. We have a cat and a dog and I noticed this last vacuum didn’t do the greatest job at getting up the fur, so I’d like one that does a better job with that.

  1. Everyone reccomend a Dyson but the thing is it’s a low airflow vacuum with only about 30-40cfm if you’re going to spend $500 on a vacuum you can get a nice Brand like the German Miele or Sebo, the Italian Lindhaus or an American made Riccar/Simplicity all of them are excellent vacuums and some lindhaus machines feature an easily removed brushroll to make it easy to remove the pet hair if you are more on a budget i would reccomend a Sanitaire, high airflow about 110cfm the vibragroomer I brushroll makes it easy to cut off hair it’s a very durable machine and one of the most common commercial vacuums

  2. Dyson (for all Floors) works really well. More money but you can really tell that it is better quality. It does a better job, and is more sturdier than others.

  3. we use a dyson. not sure what kind, but it’s orange. great vacuum, but i wish it had a button that winds up the cord.. i’m lazy

for things like pillows or clothes, lint rollers will do the trick.

  4. Pretty much all vacuums that have a rotary brush will pick up pet hair, when looking into a vacuum look at the ones that have a see through dust holder.
I have a hoover that I am very satisfied with, and we have one pet, and I’m always amazed at how much hair I suck up, in fact it’s almost a game every time I vacuum because I empty the cup before I start just to see how much dirt and hair I pick up this week.

  5. We have a Dyson DC25 animal. They are a bit pricey, but it is the best vac. we ever owned. It has an attachment that does an excellent job cleaning pet hair from furniture.
