Why won't my vacuum start?

I was vacuuming a carpet, and the vacuum went over a smaller carpet which has string pieces at the end. (My vacuum is a blue Simplicity) Anyways, when I went over the smaller carpet, the vacuum stopped vacuuming and the red light went on. I changed the dirt bag and i made sure that it wasn’t clogged anywhere. The vacuum still doesn’t work. Does anyone know why?

  1. you have to take out all the hair and dirt that clogged in the bristles at the bottom of the vacuum. You have to open up the vacuum to get to the bristles.

  2. Two causes : 1) Your vacuum choke up. Your needs to remove and clean it. 2) Your vacuum motor overheat. Maybe use too long or bc choke up. If too long .. you just stop it for a while and try to ON it back. If still not working that mean your motor coil it out. You needs to buy new one rather then you rewind the motor. Hope it will help you !
