I am a firm believer in tipping as a means for thanking someone for good service. I had a side window replaced in my car after a break in and the guy I went to vacuumed the inside of my car after they were done because of all the shards of glass so I gave him an extra 5 dollars. It’s their job to put in your new window, but if they go about it in an extra nice way or do something more than what their job requires then that’s what deserves a tip.
I hate that our society puts so much pressure on tipping regardless of service. Why is it that a food server gets a tip for doing nothing more than their job but when someone in another industry goes above and beyond they do not get any appreciation.
I do. 5 bucks would be good I think.
I recently had my windshield replaced by a similar service. I don’t think they expect a tip. I didn’t tip them because when I called they quoted the price for the windshield only even though I asked specifically if that included delivery and installation. When they were done my bill was about a hundred dollars more than I expected. So they definitely did not get a tip.
If you’re happy with his manner and service then yes.My sister had one replaced over Christmas and she gave him a tenner because he was really good and tidied up a bit too.
I’d say give him a fiver and tell him to get himself a pint.
buy him a coke. or 5 bucks. its not necessary but Its a nice gesture
