I have a rabbit who I adore! The only thing I hate is that her Timothy Hay gets all over the carpet near her cage:( It is so hard to vac out! My vacuum is always getting clogged with these long pieces of hay.. do I need a shop vac? Any tips from rabbit owners would be appreciated!

My rabbit cages are on top of carpet too. I bought a few sheets of that plastic flooring cover, the kind you use under computer desks so that the rolling chairs move around easier.
I put these under the cages. It makes it a lot easier to sweep the loose hay up with a dustpan since it can’t get ground into the carpet that way.
Hope this helps! Good luck!
Try using a broom to gather all the long pieces first. Next, vacuum your carpet as normal. We cleaned a room that was being used for large birds. Using this method for cleaning up the seeds, the carpet turned out just fine. Hope it works for you.
My vacuum cleaner has a spinning brush in the end that touches the floor and it works well.
Try Dyson or Oreck vaccums . They might help
Put a removeable tarp or sheet under her cage so all you have to do is shake it outdoors.
I use a lint roller, one of the kinds with the sticky paper.
i use a hard broom it works really good then vac what i can

try timothy hay pellets! they love them but make sure they are eating their food to.
