How do I check the spark plug on my Simplicity snowblower?

dman need help to clarify doubt about: : How do I check the spark plug on my Simplicity snowblower?
I put on a new spark plug, nothing. I even tried removing the spark plug and starting the motor to see if I could see a spark and still nothing. I can see the gas squirting out of the spark plug hole, and I have fresh gas. I even soaked the carb in Mechanic in a Bottle to get rid of any varnished gas. What do I check next?

1. the engine is probably slightly flooded now so wait a little bit.
2. to test the spark plug, pull it out, touch the end to something metal, and then try to start it. if it sparks, its good.
3. also, make sure you have the proper gap on the spark plug. this can be found in the manual of the snowblower.
4. if it still doesnt work, check the air filter to make sure it is clean.

  1. The easiest way is to hold the spark plug and SLOWLY pull the rope. It hurts but there is no mistake like there is when trying to see it spark. You can just remove the plug reattach the wire and lay it on top of the cylinder head and pull the cord. Do this is a dark place because it may be hard to see.

  2. To check the spark, unscrew the spark plug, then attach the plug wire, and (carefully) hold the plug against bare metal on the engine, while the engine is turned over (by starter, or rope, etc). There should be a spark (might be hard to see) between the electrodes at the end of the plug.
