I have a dyson vacuum. It usually works great but while vacuuming this morning i took the hose extension off and noticed it had poor suction the machine also made this odd high pitched sound and the air vent on top was sucking air in. I checked all the usual access points but can’t find a clog. I’m not sure what to do next. I need to clean my couch. Maybe I’m missing something? Any tips on what I should be looking at. Unfortunately I cannot find my owners manual.
I’ve had the vacuum for almost two years and never had a problem. the dust chamber is empty too. If all else fails I have a shop vac and can clean the couch out with that.

Hey, James Dyson promises no loss of suction!
Kidding aside, go to the website and see if you can find the answer for your specific vacuum: http://www.dyson.com/support/help.asp?article=2
