  1. Wipe down common areas daily… I have clorox anti-bact. wipes under each sink and I wipe the bathroom down daily… I also clean the toilet 1x a week and use a scrubbing bubbles toilet gel insert that keeps the toilet fresh for up to 1 week…

I run my vacuum daily as I have two toddlers and a dog… and dust weekly.. Change your furnace filter if you get a lot of dust.. I also sweep/vaccuum my kitchen and mop 1x a week..

Wash bedding and air out your bed at least weekly.. I strip the bed wash the sheets and replace after a few hours.. The bed has time to air out… I also use a mattress cover I can wash….

  2. Minimize the items you leave out by utilizing shelves and baskets. I do a 5 minute tidy in the bedroom everyday. I clean the bedroom weekly – vacuum, dust, polish, strip bedding. Monthly I strip the sheets, mattress cover, bed skirt, pillows and comforter and wash those too. Limit the amount of items left out and use large objects.

The bathrooms I wipe down daily. Takes 5 minutes to spray vinegar in the tub/shower after a shower and then wipe all the surfaces with vinegar and a clean rag. I keep a garbage in the bathroom with supermarket bag liners and several stuffed in the bottom so I have a new one to place daily. Another bucket under the sink for clean rags.

100% vinegar will clean and disinfect and shine. In the shower I let it dry naturally on surfaces.

After I spray the tub – I use the rag…Starting with the counter then the sink then the toilet. Vacuum then a fast mop and its done and again it takes about 5 minutes. Weekly I wipe the shower down ( its never really dirty The vinegar spray dissolves the shower scum) and put a disinfectant in the toilet)

  3. I clean everyday just because of the germs and viruses that multiply constantly. dust mites multiply at a constant rate so they must be destroyed every day.

  4. Kitchens and bathrooms need attention every day. Surfaces people touch regularly in the bathroom–taps, door knobs, flush handles, etc, need to be wiped down. A quick swipe with a lysol or clorox wipe will disinfect counter tops, sinks, and the tub edges. Spray down the shower every time you use it. Wipe the seat, starting with the lid and working towards the bowl, top and bottom of both pieces, then run it around the top edge of the bowl, and down the front, and toss. Use a bowl brush and swish the bowl daily. Unless there are tons of people using the bathroom, you probably only need to use toilet bowl cleaner twice a week; otherwise daily with the swish. For some reason the mirror/ medicine cabinet needs help daily!

Keeping things picked up and tidy should only take 5-15 minutes a day in room. Make your bed,
put your clothes away, put any other things away, and toss the trash. Clean up any spills as they happen. Dusting and vacuuming are usually a once a week thing for me. Sometimes I can go 2 weeks. Just depends on how the weeks is going.

If you do away with clutter, a room seems cleaner, even if it needs a good dust and vac.
