I'm thinking of getting a Vacuum cleaner for my parents…

This is besides the party (lunch/dinner). i wanted to get them a gift and so i thought of getting them a vacuum cleaner or you if any other suggestions do let me know. Its for their 25th anniversary . My budget for the gift is around 100 US$
The reason i thought of the vacuum cleaner is just last month my dad wanted to buy one but my mom refused because it was too costly. And they had an argument about that

  1. You are not going to get them anything even faintly resembling a decent vacuum cleaner at $100. And for 25 years more than a little thought should go into the gift, and it should be for both of them.

What is it that they would never do for themselves, has a bit of romance to it and gets them away from their normal routine?

Example: A weekend vacation at a downtown hotel, perhaps with show tickets included. It might run you a bit over $100 but look hard. We are near Philadelphia, and several very nice downtown hotels have ‘weekend packages’ that include a buffet dinner, breakfast, a city tour (on the ‘duck’) and either concert or show tickets for about $175 – $300 depending on the hotel, the show and other factors. Or a massage for two, gift card to a very nice local restaurant. Something that will be memorable, not a piece of hardware.

If you insist on a vacuum, get a Dyson. At least you are getting them something that will do the job. But that won’t happen at $100.

  2. I think you are better off getting a gift card and let them buy what they want. Because what does dad care about the vacuum cleaner

  3. A vacuum cleaner for their 25th Wedding Anniverary??? Why, so they can vacuum your bedroom with it? Why don’t you just give them a one way ticket to China? That would equal to what they will think of the vacuum cleaner.

  4. You would have to spend a little more than that to get a good quality vac.Figure between $150-$200.
