My vacuum cleaner fell down the stairs and now it's messed up…

Okay I have a Dyson vacuum cleaner like this one http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/archive/c/c0/20050706020555%21Dyson.cleaner.dc07.arp.jpg/65px-Dyson.cleaner.dc07.arp.jpg and one day while I had it at the top of the stairs my little brother tipped it over and it rolled down the stairs. Now it makes this awful noise and it’s not sucking up things right. D’B I took a look in the roller thing and cleaned it out. That wasn’t the problem. Then I cleaned the little circle vent thing. That’s not it either. And I’ve been taking apart everything that it tells you to check and making sure there’s nothing in it. I haven’t actually unscrewed anything. And I just can’t find it.

Is it broken? :C Will I have to replace it or can it be fixed?

Thank you so much in advance. I really can’t afford to replace this and it’s my mothers and she’s threatening to sale my computer which I need because I’m a digital artist. (plus we do need a vacuum)
I also feel pretty bad and dumb for letting it get broken.

  1. Oops! Accidents happen! That’s why it’s called an accident, it didn’t fall down the stairs on purpose!?!?!!?!?!? But I haven’t found anything yet that can’t be fixed! It probably takes a phillips screwdriver to take off the bottom of it. I’d start by making sure that roller, and the belt for it are in the right place. At the other end of that motor there should be an intake impeller (fan) look at it make sure not of the fins are hitting the housing it’s supposed to be in. Sounds like part of the plastic housing broke and now the impeller is crashing into it, making noise. To put plastic back together, I’ve always used a soldering iron to melt the two pieces of plastic back together, have a similar piece of plastic to use as a ‘filler’ and keep a fan blowing on your back to blow any fumes away from you, yes it works. I’ve never gotten to work on a ‘Dyson’, but I’ve worked on all kinds of other vacuums and basically there all the same.
If you’ve got a vacuum repair shop near you. Well, at least you know that it’s not the motor.
