I have a Dyson vacuum because I was told that it’s really good. The problem is that I have long hair and the hair just gets caught in the bristles, so it doesn’t really vacuum well, and I have to cut the hair out. Does anyone know of a good vacuum cleaner that can vacuum long hair? Maybe even a vacuum for pets though they have short hair. Any help?
Oh and I forgot to say – off carpet.

Daughter has the same problem and she has a spendy pet vac but her hair is long long and gets wound in the vac brushes. Find a solution, you could become rich. I suggested to her to use one of those sticky rollers for pet hair on floors prior to running the vac. I made one out of a mop handle and a paint roller and used masking tape—cheaper works just as well and picks up the loose critters and hairs. Just wrap the tape sticky side out on the roller (with a brush on it).
I use a shop-vac for our hardwood floors. And sometimes I use it to vacuum over our carpet before I use our bristle vacuum cleaner. It helps with the long hair. My hair is nearly 4 feet long and my daughters hair is long too so we really understand the hair problem. When it is not to cold we comb our hair outside to cut down on the hair in the floor.
By the way. Just a tip. Don’t get to close to the vacuum while it is running if your hair is down. I got mine caught in the bristle brush of the vacuum while it was running once. Thank God It didn’t have to be cut out. I prayed as I gently pulled it out and I had my daughter to check the length to see if it was all there. It was. From then on I made sure I put my hair up before I vacuumed the floors.
