My vacuum cleaner is in good shape but has a broken belt. It’s a minor repair, but I want to get rid of it because I have a new, better vacuum. I don’t want to throw it away because it could be easily repaired. Are there places that will purchase, or at least take, broken appliances?

Call the salvation army if you live in the suburbs. They pick up on certain days. Donate it to a church if it is just a belt. They can use it for their sunday school rooms, preschool, etc… or put it aside for a garage sale.
put it on the sidewalk, along with a sign that says "free, but need new belt"
Im sure someone will take it
Ask around your neighborhood and see if any one needs a vacuum cleaner. Maybe you want to fix it before you sell it? Your choice.
Why dont you look around your house or if you have an attic with old stuff and get them out. Do a yard sale! Because if two people want that same vacuum cleaner it will turn into a big mess but then, if one finds something else they want they’ll get that. Treat the vacumm cleaner as any other thing in your yard sale! Dont make any special deals or something… this will even help you clean out your house! Hope i helped!
